Makbet Remix

The production comissioned by Theatrum Gedanense, the performance inspired by " Macbeth" by W. Shakespear, for 2010 Shakespere Festival, directed by Robert Florczak and played by Sfinks und Bzdulow group.


The strongest feature of the performance is its aestetic value. The production engaged, as many fine arts artist, as the dancers, which led to the work, visually rich and grand.

The axis of the spectakle is led acording to the text, recorded and played off stage. The actors in this perforamnce say nothhing, they move, playing the recodred text.

The movement on stage is guided by the video projector-  if the screen for the projection is needed, the actor brings it on the stage. The visuals are accompanaying most of the scenes, the visuals carry the viewer to the forest, from the forest to the castle, from the castle to the forset and around the rooms. It happens directly - the film is changed ant the actor waits till the recorded lines are finished.

 



The performance brings the vision of war conflicts, the icons of death, voices from the radio, the fragmnets of the tv shows.

The eclecticism can be the sign of the performance - the video projections, the tv, the radio, the elements of the dance, all this makes the perfomance truelly postmodern.

Macbeath and Banco are coming back form war on bikes armored with scythes blades. On the way they receive the news from the king.

The psychodelic sisters, the wiches pass the words of  fate, stating that Macbeathe is to rule soon, but also they somehow show Macbeathe the world ruled by freed instincts.

The King and his court busy with dancing and rewards giving meets Macbeth in his tension and wating. Clearly effeminate King informs Macbeth that Malcolm, the son of King playd by a thin blond actres speaking in a very low voice is to be the King in future.

In this ambiguous atmosphere only the murder can clear the situation, and the generous KIng is murdered by Macbeth the warrior, provoked by Lady Macbeth, the woman ambitious to be the wife of the King , at all costs.

Macbeth barricades himself behind the table, and Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz - in his double role, changes form the soft King into the tough MacDuff and while playing tenis, he convinces Malcolm to fight Macbeth, and wins his fight with Macbeth in the fight of the choreography.

Lady Macbeth - Bożena Elterman, looses mind, and wins the voice  back , shouthing that she doesnot want to play any more, although Shakspear has her death in the fifht scenes of the last act, already.

The perfomance is finished and the Game is Over.
